2023-07-08-CAP-Cadet-Glider-Academy-SCOH: Civil Air Patrol National Cadet Glider Academy was held at the Soaring Club Of Houston (SCOH) at their private airport/gliderport (89TA) ~45 miles NW of Houston, TX, near Waller, Texas, 07/08/23-07/15/23. We had 20 cadets and several senior and cadet staff. 6 cadets soloed, 9 cadets pre-soloed (CAP qualification) and some progressed as far as they could, considering the availability of Glider Instructors (some invited instructors were unable to attend), and weather and timing. We used local equipment, SGS-2-33, Blanik L-23 and two CAP ASK-21s, N972AF from Texas and N221CP from Colorado. CAP has an SGS-2-33 based at SCOH that we identify as "CAP-8" and it is used for some cadet solos.
