2022-07-22-Oshkosh-EAA-AirVenture: Oshkosh AirVenture 2022 was a busy, happy place. I was able to catch a ride with Rick Turley in his Cessna 182, N8768M. We flew in with C2O="Cessnas 2 Oshkosh", a "flight" of 104 Cessnas from Juneau/Dodge County, KUNU, about 30 miles south of Oshkosh. As a group arrival, we have reserved camping on the North 40 near the "Red Showerhouse", next to the Bonanzas-2-Oshkosh. Lots of airplanes arrived via Ripon/Fisk and we had good weather after the Saturday rain and wind storm. Many people's tents were blown over by the wind and then soaked with the rain. The laundromats were busy on Sunday drying out lots of camping gear. After that, the weather was wonderful... high 80s to low 90s, light winds and a few cooling sprinkles. This year I (Jer/) received an award from the EAA Young Eagles program for being one of 5 pilots in the world who has flown EAA Young Eagles every year for all 30 years, since we started the program in 1992. I received a nice plaque for myself and my local EAA 515 Chapter, and was given a lifetime membership to EAA. WOW! I feel so honored and humbled. In my spare time, I spent several sessions instructing at the EAA Museum at the new building/addition, the PPC=Pilot Proficiency Center with the Redbird Simulators, including the crosswind simulator. The SPA=Seaplane Pilots Association "Corn Roast" was a fun time with brats, burgers, corn on the cob and beer... featuring a Wisconsin specialty: "Spotted Cow", brewed by the New Glarus Brewery, "available only in Wisconsin". I also served as "Flightline Safety" during the Wednesday afternoon airshow. They give me a scooter and I attempt to help everyone to remember to stay behind the airshow safety line. Oshkosh AirVenture goes Monday to Sunday, this year it was 07/25/22 - 07/30/22. 08/07/22
